This is the week I’ve been touting for months for being one of great astrological potency and significance. Jupiter comes up to conjoin Eris for the first time since the discovery of the culprit-status planet. As well, Mars, ruler of Aries (Ares), one of the constant companions of Eris, joins in the mix. Together, Mars and Eris, specialized in mayhem wherever they traveled. And Jupiter and Eris together could alter the direction of the heavens. What kind of week will this be?
A check of the infrared satellite this morning showed developing clouds, promising a continuation of the train of violent weather in the central United States, not that far from an astrolocality line involving Mars-Jupiter-Eris for this week’s conjunction. Possibly a record number of tornadoes will be recorded in the nation’s mid-section for the month of April.
Also in the central U. S., and very close to the exact line, sits Madison, Wisconsin, the capital of the state. In this state, petitions for recalling five Republican State Senators and three Democratic State Senators, near or have exceeded the number of signatures to force a recall vote. Additionally, a recount has been demanded by one of the candidates for a State Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin. Back in the mythology tales of old, when Jupiter found political results not to his liking, he enlisted Eris to reverse the course of the heavens, such that what he perceived as a wrong could be righted.
In other political arenas, the strongest line of Mars-Jupiter-Eris in the Middle East actually cuts through Algeria. But nearby, the world waits to see what will shake out in Libya, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain and other countries as a watchful eye is kept on Egypt to see if changes implied actually stick. Who knows what other political surprises might surface in the near future?
Will all of the changes manifest this week? Unlikely. But certainly the winds of change scatter the seeds of shifting demands, priorities and consciousness widely in the next seven days or so. An additional wave of results, clarification and the economic impact of this week likely appears just after the end of the first week of May when Mercury and Venus reach the degrees of the Mars-Jupiter-Eris conjunction.
It still boggles my mind that Eris has not yet woven her way into mainstream astrological consideration. She is, after all, the goddess who creates mayhem upon being ignored, snubbed or excluded. Her astrological signature implores each person to make highly individualistic decisions regrading status, money, success, visibility and compliance or disregard for all social norms. Together with Jupiter and sparked by Mars, personal reversals of fortune can be conceived and created. According to optimistic speculation this could be an amazingly wonderful thing. Over the past months, I’ve carefully observed transits involving Jupiter and Eris, especially noting situations of Jupiter crossing the natal Eris; an effect recently occurring for every person on Earth. When the transits of Jupiter to Eris became exact (or within an orb of two days), life-altering opportunities arose. Some ran toward the opportunity; others ran the other direction.
No matter which way a person ran during these recent transits, consider that now the collective celestial impetus leads every person to a decision point regarding the consciousness watering trough of life. Yes, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it do the backstroke. How about a few suggestions, just in case, big, bad, scary Eris, shivers your timbers?
Mars to Jupiter
This transit is a bit like reading a mechanical guide book. When told to torque a bolt to a specific value, the “more is better” temperament can slip in. The temptation to over-torque may lead to a broken bolt. In Tucson this week, everyone is making a big production out of watching the space shuttle launch when Representative Gabrielle Giffords’ astronaut husband pilots the craft into space for the second to last time. The shuttle actually offers a parallel analogue for this transit. Shortly after take off the shuttle passes through a zone that would be potentially destructive if full throttling persisted. So for a time, the crew throttles back, until the zone of danger passes. Then, they can safely throttle back up to maximize ascent.
This planetary pairing requires instinctive and instantaneous responsiveness to all variables in one’s environment. Martial arts teachers instruct students to defend against no blow that is not coming. Conversely, alert reaction and instinct know when to protect. Constant adjustment of one’s energy, blending with a careful stoking of the fire in one’s belly likely produces nominal to optimal results.
This is a “win the battle, lose the war” signature. Pick confrontations and challenges carefully. More important, select only those callings that suit your nature and in which you know you can run the course until completion. False starts frustrate fecundity.
Mars to Eris
While this combo is known for mayhem and messing up everything in its path, there is an antidotal side. Operating within a position of objectivity, neutrality and without an emotional charge permit clear action, especially when confronting adversarial energies.
Efforts to invoke revenge, enforce a standard of justice not sanctioned by Jupiter, or personally assume the roles of judge, jury and executioner likely fail. Action without knowledge, skill, preparation or action of raw, unthinking reaction also render results that move in a non-desired direction.
The optimal course of this pattern requires respectful appeals rich in a sense of appropriate timing. At a recent film festival a film company president discussed the lack of appeal that goes with being frantically pitched an idea while trying to change an airline seat at check in, during a critical body function in the lavoratory or while pumping gas. Know the space in which advance is permitted. Perhaps conduct an internal check to see that your that view of a Simon-sez green light is clear. When making a presentation, do so with appropriate decorum.
Here’s the sticky part. Sometimes folks operating under the auspices of consciousness and within a higher mind framework want to override mundane rules, decorum, traditions and protocols. This component of the upcoming tri-conjunction observes that if you want to upset the apple cart, know where to put those apples once the cart tips, and how about moving the apples to better places without bruising them on the ground at the farmers’ market?
The day this aspect takes place, the Moon enters Aries. Aggressive rule breaking will be met by stricter enforcement of the rules protestors contend are flawed. If you believe you get more bears with honey than vinegar, make sure it’s bears you really want to call into your inner circle.
Jupiter to Eris
This is a revolutionary pattern. Even a small, token decision may alter the course of one’s life for the better. Exorcize the demons of can’t, won’t, stubbornness, resistence and pessimism. Liberation in life, according to these two planets, most easily occurs with a clear statement of purpose, impeccable intention and an awareness of the magnitude of the larger pond into one purposely dives.
When in those moments of life-changing opportunity, show your best. Apologize for no creative output. Minimize none of your accomplishments. Confidently state your purpose and indicate without reservation the dharma you intend to invoke.
Mercury to the tri-conjunction degree
About a week after this week’s conjunctions, initial results should begin to appear. Look for the signals, the signs and the real world clearing that appears on your path. If the clerk at the local print center charges you nothing for the fax that you must send to agree to terms of a contract, consider the clearing that is implied. Heap up small details that indicate the course of life corrects based upon the recent clarification of your intent, mission and method of action. Confirm and affirm the benefits Jupiter dishes up on your plate.
Venus to the tri-conjunction degree
Concurrent with Mercury, Venus aligns with the degree of the Mars-Jupiter-Eris trifecta. Know your bottom line such that if an offer comes out of the blue, you have a clear sense that the pending terms dignify your creativity and consciousness. If it does, take it. If not, negotiate with decorum.
